Designer's Notes

As we move closer to the opening session, there are a few points of emphasis I would like to share. Every time you start a new campaign, as a player or a DM, there are new things that you learn. Some things work well, others don't, and you build on that to make the next session that much better. With that said, I want to make special mention of the "Cormyr insert" in each player's folder. A large portion of this campaign will take place in that realm of Faerun and the things in that insert are deemed common knowledge. There's even a highly detailed full page map for you to reference at any time. I guess what I'm trying to say is: "It's worth the 20 minutes it takes to read it."
"For the Love of Cormyr" will take place on a smaller, more detailed level. This means that previously unimportant issues of role playing (such as local customs, laws, etc.) will play a big part in your character development. Being nice to the bartender may mean having an informant a few levels down the road, or being a dick to him may get you stabbed in an alley by his ruthless mob associates. Your backstories, actions, and choices all shape the future content of this campaign. Think about that before you stab a drow commoner, throw a force orb at something, or waste a week stalking the local shop owner.
