Of all the cities and towns in western Cormyr, Greatgaunt was the only one that did not recover from the Spellplague. Nestled in the foothills of the Storm Horns roughly fifty miles south of Old Axe, much of the structural components still stand today. The former population, however, all perished to the last man, woman, and child. Because of this, locals view the empty town as haunted and possibly still tainted with remnants of Spellfire. No effort was ever made to rebuild or repopulate Greatgaunt, but it has served as a refuge for criminals, roaming monsters, and the occasional religious cult. Needless to say, only the most foolhardy tempt fate inside the gates of these accursed ruins.

Shattered Greatgaunt
