Session #1 Recap

Having been moderately informed of their requested task by Senior War Wizard Silas, the party was promptly teleported to the outskirts of Old Axe where they procured a make-shift base of operations from an abandoned watchtower. A brief expedition into town allowed the group to get a feel for things and the following morning they were met by a fellow agent of the Crown, Asim Mu'tazz. With a better explanation of what they were to accomplish, our brave adventurers set off into town once more, only to find trouble with some rowdy locals. Making short work of that obstacle, contacts were made among the cemetery watchman and possibly with the Noble House Saudaire. As the sun made its way towards the horizon, it became time to do what they were sent to do...

An unprovoked melee with some Elves by way of Sembia began the party's trek into the wilderness of the surrounding foothills and a few hours after moonrise they had located the Halfling camp. While Braylon the bard employed his stealth tactics, Joarth opted for a hero's approach and charged the heart of the camp with a battle cry for Saint Cuthbert. Vicious combat ensued and the wererat leader was quickly slain, but not before infecting Caraga with a bout of Filth Fever. Rest was fleeting as the rumored Ibixians were drawn to the sounds of combat, but they to were laid low with ease, especially by the warlock Esme as she rained contagion and sickness down upon them. With their task accomplished and the spoils of battle in hand, the group made their way back to the tower to recuperate and care for their sick and wounded.

The following morning found the party in better health and spirit as a Knight among the Purple Dragons met them with praise and rewards. Conversation was quick and concise, though the mention of possible activity in the condemned building raised the Knight's suspicion. He bid the group farewell with promises of more orders to arrive by post carrier later that day. As expected, a man carried upon horseback delivered such just past mid day. The letter read as follows:

Dearest Servants to the Crown,

News of your exploits have made it to royal Suzail and I extend my gratitude. The extermination of the Halflings was well received and I am grateful that you employ the means to carry out those tasks without my requesting such specifically. Before we continue our investigation into Armande's disappearance, the activities mentioned in regards to the condemned building there in Old Axe puzzle me. Such a manor is in far too good a state to be listed as condemned. I implore that you look into these matters, but in such a way as to not arouse notice or suspicion. There are only so many town guards and purple dragons that you can misdirect your murders upon. May Tymora's luck be with you.
-S

- There was mention that the previous owner of the condemned manor was run out of town by House Saudaire and that he now resides in a village to the west known as Meloren's Rest.

Asim was redeployed to the south in a small town called Greatgaunt. He wished each of you well and offered that you keep whatever bit of treasure he may have earned. Perhaps he will see you again...

It seems odd that they know about us framing a guy for murder. Perhaps we are being scryed
