Character Creation Backgrounds Preview

For the upcoming campaign, you will select your character creation options from a list of five different backgrounds. Each background will have certain small incentives attached to it, but only certain races and classes will be available in a certain category. This is done to stress the emphasis of character story, role playing, and having a character you can relate to and grow with. So, without further delay, these are the five backgrounds available with details to follow in the coming month of September.

1. PILGRIM: This background is for characters venturing into Faerun for the first time. It's races and classes will be restricted to the Player's Handbook, but the individual background selection is much more in depth and allows more room for creativity in character story.
2. REFUGEE: These characters will have left Faerun during the time of the spellplague and are now seeking their way home, only to find a vast change in the realms they once knew.
3. NATIVE: Characters from this background will have been residents of Faerun their entire lives and will have a new selection of feats, races, classes, and incentives specific to this choice.
4. ALIEN: Players choosing this background will have the option of choosing races from the continent know as Returned Abeir as well as a couple of "exclusive" races compiled for this particular campaign.
5. SAVAGE: Contrary to the title, this background will allow for a selection of "Monstrous Races" such as those found in the back of the Monster Manuel and maybe a couple of special selections dug up along the way.
